79th Birthday

Posted on October 20, 2012 by Dot

Most goals set in my youth are realized
And closing in on eighty, that is good.
Perhaps the time has passed for long-range plans.

There are still books to write and plays to see,
Folks to hang out with and a blog to tend.
A few things I may teach and more to learn.

I’d like to know that what I’ve done will last;
A child reads a book great-great-grandma wrote
And journals inspire stories yet untold.

    Who says you’re a “non-poet”? No one but you! I especially like the line, “Perhaps the time has passed for long-range plans.” Amen, amen. loveP

    Dot, I agree with Pat. Your post is poetic. I enjoyed it. Hope your birthday was happy and that many blessings show up for you!

    Happy Birthday!! Old is just a state of mind, right? Unfortunately my “state” IS old, but, it’s a good life! Get out there and celebrate yours!
